About the role

As a result, our St Leonards office is currently seeking a Team Leader with Utilities and WSC experience to join our young and energetic team to continue this success.

Reporting to the Group Leader - Infrastructure, you will be responsible for leading the Sydney based Utilities & WSC team, collaborating with the Wollongong based Utilities & WSC team and working on major Utilities and Sydney Water developer works projects pertaining to the design of infrastructure for major transport, and community development projects.


Day to day tasks would involve:

Team Lead:

  • Managing a team of engineers, designers and drafters;
  • Provide mentoring and training to develop staff experience;
  • Resource allocation and utilisation assessments;
  • Client management and Business Development;
  • Undertake employee PDP's.

Utilities:

  • Coordination and management of Utility Design teams;
  • Working with all utilities authority's;
  • Leading projects from lodgements to completion;
  • Collaborating with clients to design innovative solutions to meet their needs and community expectations;
  • Data analysis, interpretation and assessment to achieve project goals;
  • Design coordination and submission of proposals ensuring relevant timeframes and budgets are met;
  • Attendance at project/client meetings and engaging in community consultation;
  • Undertaking field work and site inspections;
  • Managing projects financials, invoicing, program, quality etc;

Sydney Water:

  • Working with Sydney Waters Hydra and E-Developer system;
  • Working on projects from Application to Project Completion;
  • Working with clients to design innovative solutions to meet their needs and community expectations;
  • Data analysis, interpretation and assessment to achieve project goals;
  • Design coordination and submission of proposals ensuring relevant timeframes and budgets are met;
  • Attendance at project/client meetings and engaging in community consultation;
  • Undertaking field work and site inspections;
  • Managing projects financials, invoicing, program, quality etc;

To be successful for this role you'll need:

  • Demonstrated at least ten years' experience within a Water Servicing Coordinator or Utilities role;
  • Demonstrate at least five years' experience within a Team Lead role;
  • Strong understanding of utility authority policies and procedures particularly Sydney Water;
  • A demonstrated design background with sound technical knowledge;
  • Previous experience in project management on Sydney Water or utility projects
  • Previous experience with relevant computing packages including AutoCAD, and MS packages (Excel, Word, Project)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
