Job Description

The WT Melbourne office is beyond busy and due to significant growth and ongoing delivery success with our clients, we're on the lookout for qualified and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors, ideally with major Rail and Infrastructure project experience.

This role will perform various quantity surveying functions including estimating, cost management and monitoring, and accurate and timely financial reporting whilst exercising sound financial acumen with a key focus on proactively maximising value for our clients.

This role is client-facing, and those with experience managing stakeholder-dense clients will do well, and likewise, we are looking for someone who wants to be a leader in the industry, delivering large and complex projects while also helping mentor the future generation.

This role is responsible for:

Taking a lead role in liaising with clients, architects and main contractors Identifying and facilitating new business opportunities Master-plan and feasibility budgets Cost checking of developing design Value engineering Tender evaluations and analysis Contract negotiations Cash flow projects Procurement Cost reporting Evaluation of variations Valuations Final account reporting Claims preparation, presentation, negotiation and settlement of claims Investment analysis Formulating and implementing benchmarking processes to improve the consistency, accuracy and time to prepare cost models and plans

Qualifications

Relevant tertiary qualification in any of the following areas: Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or Construction Management Full Australian working rights and currently located in Australia RICS / AIQS accredited candidates will be highly regarded Proficient in the use of Cost X Ability to produce both top down and bottom up cost plans A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from conception, through to completion and post-project review Highly motivated with a passion for delivering excellence to clients Excellent communication skills and ability to manage a team and control multiple projects/client commissions
