Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement high-quality communications and marketing plans to achieve business objectives
  • Manage the council's brand and reputation through effective media relations and crisis management
  • Contribute to the development of corporate communications strategies and plans
  • Write and edit copy proficiently for corporate communications, including media releases, social media posts, and marketing materials
  • Design and implement digital marketing campaigns to reach diverse audiences
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project delivery
  • Manage customer and media enquiries in a timely and professional manner

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in a communications or public relations role
  • Excellent communication and written skills
  • Proven experience in managing media and developing high-quality communications plans
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of how to engage with diverse communities through various formats and channels

Desirable Criteria:

  • Current NSW Class C Driver's Licence
  • Previous experience working in Local Government
  • Knowledge or understanding of Local Government Services
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft 365 software
  • Basic understanding of Adobe Creative Suite software
  • Basic photography and videography skills
