As the Specialist Lead Stakeholder Management, it's your role to lead the management of industry groups, unions, and associations across the WorkCover Queensland network to drive innovation and best practice across the scheme.


You will:

  • Deliver better claim outcomes, stronger relationships, and business objectives within the policy and claims management system
  • Develop an indepth understanding of business drivers withing the claims portfolio and consequences for claims management and premium outcomes
  • Lead and strengthen strategic partnerships with stakeholders and resolve critical stakeholder concerns
  • Design and develop a stakeholder management framework, centred at creating high trust, quality, that balances the needs of stakeholders with the sustainability of the fund
  • Collaborate with the Head of Partnerships, Corporate Relations Manager, other account and stakeholder managers and technical specialists to share knowledge to understand and resolve customer and stakeholder issues.
  • Ensure the WorkCover leadership team is kept informed of portfolio or market dynamics and issues that could impact ongoing stakeholder relationships and claims management outcomes
  • Lead activities relating to OIR, WHSQ, IPaM and IRRI
  • Provide technical advice, support and mentoring to WorkCover in stakeholder management to develop capability
  • Provide advice on escalated stakeholder complaints, as well as identify trends associated from customer experience data and other available data sources
  • Strengthen stakeholder relationships across operations and support systems to assist WorkCover to deliver what matters within the policy and claims management strategy
  • Accountable for our policy development and guidelines (internal and external) to reflect practices that balance the needs of stakeholders with strong financial outcomes
  • Mentor and develop team members within the WorkCover leadership team.

A bit about you:

  • Minimum 5 years relationship or account management experience, preferably in the insurance/financial services sector with a track record of maintaining key customers and stakeholders
  • Operational management experience including development and implementation of business plans
  • Strong financial management skills including the ability to develop business cases and budgets and interpret management reports
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal skills to interact with others and develop stakeholder relationships
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to professionally represent WorkCover in various external forums
  • Ability to explore alternative views, ideas, and positions to reach outcomes that gain the support of all parties and
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, or related field.
