Policy Writer and Quality & Compliance Advisor is a unique role, supporting IRT's compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards. This role is key in supporting the development of high quality and effective policy and procedures for use in practice and in driving our Clinical Governance Framework.
This role operates on a hybrid model - split your time between
-
working from home and in our Wollongong office to attend meetings, learning and for team collaboration sessions. This position is a
-
fixed term contract until May 2024.

About the role:

  • You will report to the Manager
  • Risk, in collaboration with Quality and Compliance Managers across business operations. You'll use your expertise in the aged care sector including Accreditation Standards, legislation, regulations, best practice and clinical governance requirements to provide expert clinical advice to a range of stakeholders.

This role combines two different, yet related responsibilities, both of which support IRT's compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Practice Standards and other related obligations.


The role is allocated roughly as:

  • 5 days per fortnight policy analyst/ writer

To be successful you will have:

  • Current Registered Nurse registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) / NMBA
  • Post graduate qualification in Aged Care/Leadership or relevant health discipline (Desirable)
  • A strong background in writing and working on clinical topics, policies, procedures in either health care and/or aged care
  • A strong understanding of the diverse of issues Aged/Health Care presents and an ability to understand complex information and data and write in a manner appropriate for clinicians and a range of stakeholders
  • Strong working knowledge of Aged Care Centre operations and management
  • Extensive experience at a senior level with a Residential Aged Care or NDIS provider
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience of the aged care sector including Accreditation Standards, legislation, regulations, best practice and clinical governance requirements.
