The Company

Your new organisation is a growing Tier 2 Construction Company, with multiple new, major projects secured throughout New South Wales.

You will be joining at an exciting time whilst the business continues to develop.

The Role

As Safety Coordinator, you will be based on site for a significant construction project in Sydney's Inner West for a major client.

You will be dedicated to this project and be the leading site representative for all employees and contractors.

Your position will require you to support the project teams in having an effective and safe workplace through successfully managing the safety plans and systems.

Beyond this project, there is great opportunity for progression in the business.

Key accountabilities in this role will include:

  • Supporting the implementation of all HSE plans and systems
  • Clear and supportive communication with all members of the team, contractors and client
  • Training and coaching of all staff
  • Assisting with inductions and toolbox meetings
  • Monitoring and reporting on all relevant activities
  • Supporting the companies auditing and reporting process
  • Support in the investigation of accidents/incidents
  • Being instrumental in driving positive change and safety awareness
This will be a challenging, fast-paced role providing opportunities for development in a supportive working environment.

Your Experience

We require:

  • Strong understanding of safety regulations for Australia and more specifically NSW
  • Exposure to working in a high risk, construction project
  • Exceptional communication skills and desire to engage in partnership with project teams to deliver company safety plans and initiatives
  • Strong reporting skills and attention to detail, particularly in relation to client requirements
  • A team player with a positive attitude and the aptitude to prioritise and manage the expectations of the business and key client
  • Confident in providing timely and succinct HSE advice on site
