This role is crucial for powering the future of mining operations, ensuring reliability and efficiency of electrical systems within our mining facilities.

Work Location: Perth OR Fortescue's Pilbara locations

Roster: Monday to Friday in Perth OR FIFO from Perth, Busselton, Broome, Karratha, Port Hedland, Fitzroy Crossing, and Kununurra

Key Responsibilities

  • Anticipate and proactively resolve potential electrical issues to maintain a safe environment, using technical solutions tailored to iron ore fixed plant operations
  • Utilize advanced technology and green energy to meet sustainable mining practices
  • Implement data analysis, machine learning, and dashboards for predictive maintenance
  • Manage and execute electrical projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to standards
  • Design and supervise electrical system installations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate electrical components into mining equipment, optimizing performance
  • Conduct inspections and tests to troubleshoot electrical malfunctions, minimizing downtime
  • Develop preventive maintenance programs to ensure smooth operation of electrical systems

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Previous experience as an Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, preferably in an iron ore fixed plant maintenance setting
  • Prior project management experience, demonstrating leadership and successful project delivery
  • Expertise in root cause analysis to address electrical issues effectively
  • Competency in maintenance management systems like SAP
