Melbourne, Victoria, Australia McConnell Dowell Constructors Full time

About the role

McConnell Dowell (MCD) is seeking a Reporting and Data Specialist to join our team at Western Program Alliance, based at our offices in Footscray.

McConnell Dowell is the constructor within the Western Program Alliance (WPA) which forms part of the Victorian State government's Level Crossing Removal Program. WPA brings together MCD, Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP), Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM), V/Line, with Arup and Mott MacDonald as design partners.

If you're looking to join a company that encourages people to think outside the box and influence change through great ideas and continuous improvement, this role is ideal for you.

Work with reporting analysts and reporting measure owners to produce high-quality reporting systems that are accurate, concise, intuitively structured, appropriate for the intended audiences, and integrated with related organisational activities.

Major objectives include:

  • Designing, creating and integrating systems assets so that teams can collect, store and administer their reporting measure data.
  • Building charts, dashboards and other systems assets so that teams can visualise and share their reporting measures.
  • Coordinating and administering selected reporting measure systems assets.
  • Providing expert advice on best practice development and use of reporting measure systems assets.
  • Developing and integrating reporting measure systems assets as part of the process to add, update, supersede and discontinue reporting measures.
  • Ensuring any new initiative aligns to the MCD Group IT Road Map.
  • Ensuring all policies, procedures and standards are followed as provided by MCD Group.
  • Assisting with – and in some instances leading – the deployment, development, support and associated activities of new IT technologies.

About you

  • Minimum 5 years of experience within a business analyst, business developer or similar role.
  • A Bachelor degree with specialisation in information systems or similar.
  • High level of experience with Business Intelligence (BI) concepts and methodologies (including dimensional modelling or similar) and related BI applications (preferably Microsoft Power BI).
  • Experience with the development, deployment and administration of PowerApps (Model driven apps) and SharePoint Online.
  • High level of expertise and experience in the use of the Microsoft Office platform, namely Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence and respect of all levels of stakeholders.
  • Highly organised, analytical and technically competent.
  • Demonstrated ability to approach challenges by constructing creative (yet simple) and innovative solutions.

We're dedicated to building a diverse workplace, so we also look at applicants with great transferable skills from similar industries.

If that's you, we encourage you to still register your interest as you may just be the right candidate for this role or one of our other opportunities.

Applications close 20 June 2024.
