The Role
We are looking for a part-time kitchen attendant to be responsible for ensuring all sanitation standards are met.
To be successful as an attendant, you should be committed to hard work, and have the physical stamina to be on your feet and moving for the duration of your shifts.
Reporting to the Head Chef, your key duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to;- Operate the industrial dishwasher
- Wash glassware and other implements by hand when necessary
- Empty and clean all trash receptacles
- Clean kitchen machines and equipment daily
- Rotate dishes to reduce wear and tear on resources
- Adhere to all sanitation procedures and policies
- Assist other kitchen staff as needed with preperation of certain food items, especially during peak times
- Perform kitchen opening, closing and side work
- Clean up spills or broken glassware immediately
- Report any hygiene or maintenance issues to relevant department
- Unloading, storing and rotating stock
About You
To excel in the role, you should have;
- Experience in a busy kitchen and a sound knowledge of cleanliness and standards
- Work according to workplace Health and Safety standards
- Be able to work well under pressure on your own as well as in a team
- High degree of organisational and communication skills
- Be flexible to work on a rotating roster (including weekends and public holidays)
- A strong work ethic and high level of motivation
