About the Role

We are seeking a Data Centre Manager to join our team and oversee 2 data centres in Western Sydney and North Ryde. The role entails managing the data centre environment's capacity, availability, and security to ensure uninterrupted services to all clients, maintaining adherence to standards and strict maintenance regimes.

Responsibilities:

Audit

  • Collaborate with Compliance manager and coordinator to prepare for audits.
  • Ensure data centres are audit-ready and assist in the auditing process for existing certified sites.
  • Review audit reports with Compliance Manager, address findings promptly, and manage resolutions.
  • Manage the resolution of audit findings and communicate progress effectively.

Capacity Management/National processes

  • Provide comprehensive capacity management for the data centre environment.
  • Monitor capacity utilization and plan for expansions/upgrades in a timely manner.
  • Document activities to establish nationalized processes for efficient solutions.
  • Enforce agreed nationalised DC processes.

Maintenance

  • Maintain an updated asset listing for infrastructure supporting the data centre.
  • Ensure assets are well-maintained and have current warranties in place.
  • Develop and adhere to a 12-month maintenance plan.
  • Review maintenance activities monthly and address any identified issues promptly.

Security

  • Maintain data confidentiality and security measures.
  • Ensure staff awareness of security policies and enforce them.
  • Manage facility security and adhere to security policies.

Contract Management

  • Support National DCM in managing agreements with suppliers.
  • Review improvement plans and provide feedback against SLAs.
  • Ensure timely review and update of improvement plans.

Required Skills:

  • 10 years' experience in managing data centre environments.
  • Strong project and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in staff and vendor management.
