About the roles:
The ACIC is looking to fill several Investigator/Senior Investigator positions at the APS6 and EL1 levels.

As an Investigator, you'll be part of planning, contributing, and implementing the ACIC's intelligence operations to gain unique insights into transnational serious and organized crime (TSOC) and create opportunities for enforcement agencies to disrupt these networks. Investigators utilize intelligence collection methods, investigative techniques, and project management abilities while utilizing ACIC capabilities like coercive powers, human intelligence, surveillance, bulk data, and advanced analytics, working in diverse teams to shape the environment for successful intelligence strategies that meet ACIC objectives.

Key responsibilities for APS6 Investigator:
  • Participate in intelligence operations and investigations focusing on generating insights into TSOC threats, including using ACIC's coercive powers and managing human sources
  • Contribute to complex intelligence projects related to significant crimes, providing input on intelligence and thematic strategies
  • Collaborate with stakeholders such as state and federal police, and global law enforcement partners for the best outcomes
  • Extract relevant information from operations to create impactful reports
  • Undertake human source intelligence collection within legal frameworks
  • Develop relationships with partners in Law Enforcement and National Intelligence Community
  • Operate autonomously with risk management in mind
Key responsibilities for EL1 Investigator:
  • Manage intelligence operations aiming to uncover TSOC threats, using ACIC's powers and managing human sources
  • Lead projects on significant crimes, developing strategies for intelligence
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for successful intelligence operations
  • Extract relevant information to create impactful reports
  • Undertake human source intelligence collection within legal frameworks
  • Develop relationships with partners in Law Enforcement and National Intelligence Community
  • Operate autonomously with risk management in mind

Eligibility:
  • Citizenship: To be considered, applicants must be Australian citizens
  • Security Clearance: Successful candidates must obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance
  • Pre-Employment Screening: All candidates must pass an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA)
