Our Biodiversity Conservation Division is seeking a suitably a Principal Project Officer, Communications to join our Partnerships and Communications team.

As a Principal Project Officer, you will lead the communication function for the Saving our Species (SoS) program by setting the strategic communication direction for SoS and providing expert advice to staff and stakeholders on the effective use of communication channels. The role is also responsible for leading communication initiatives and campaigns, and to assist in issues management to promote and build awareness of the SoS program.

About You

Key knowledge and experience

  • Extensive experience in leading innovative and effective marketing and communications strategies and campaigns across multiple platforms in a complex organisation.
  • Sound experience in developing and implementing communication, media and digital marketing across multiple platforms.
  • Good understanding of emerging trends in the communications landscape.
  • Good understanding of stakeholder engagement practices and how to connect with relevant target audiences.
  • A degree in communications or marketing (or similar) is recommended but not essential.
