Eligibility:

  1. Minimum of 4 years postgraduate experience with recent broad experience in Paediatrics, including neonates
  2. General, Provisional or limited registration with AHPRA or eligible to obtain
  3. IMG's that have completed at least the AMC MCQ (part 1) or completed both AMC 1 & 2 (clinical exam)
  4. IMG's eligible via the Competent Authority Pathway (training in the UK, USA, NZ, Canada or Ireland)
  5. IMG's assessed by RACP College as partially or substantially comparable (doctors currently interviewing with RACP may express their interest)

The Position:

The Hospital's Paediatric Department have new opportunities available for Trainee Paediatric doctors to join their dynamic team.

  • Provide clinical care to paediatric and neonatal patients, both inpatient and outpatient, as well as consultation services
  • Work under supervision to evaluate and oversee the treatment of infants and children across various settings, including the Neonatal Unit, Children's Ward, Paediatric Assessment Unit, and Emergency Department.

The hospital is experienced at working with overseas trained doctors; therefore it is easy to comply with the AHPRA regulations and demonstrate supervision and monitoring in your placement. Provide a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.

The Facility

The hospital stands as the primary tertiary referral centre for the entire region, maintaining close affiliations with the nearby universities. Notably, its Emergency Department (ED) ranks among the busiest in New South Wales, handling approximately 70,000 patient presentations each year. Thanks to a recent and substantial $100 million transformation and redevelopment effort, the facility now boasts over 500 beds, significantly enhancing its capacity to serve the community's healthcare needs.
