About You


You will contribute to the success of the RMIT and its strategic priorities by creating design assets and templates for RMIT's communication channels and campaigns and providing advice and guidance to stakeholders on best practice creative and considered design solutions which align to our audiences and our wider content strategy.


You will look after the ideation and creation of design assets including infographics, presentations, process maps, posters, EDMs, digital screens, video elements and web graphics.


As part of a dynamic and creative team who deliver content production services across RMIT, you will work closely with the Senior Manager, Content Production and the Channels & Campaigns team, as well as directly with the University Communications Business Partner network and key stakeholders to produce assets that are on brand, accessible and user/viewer friendly and ensuring design needs are met in a timely manner.

When required, you will also coach and support junior team members and casual design staff.

To be successful in this position, you'll have as a minimum:

  • Substantial experience as a designer in an agency or in-house production environment or as a freelancer, working across a broad range of branding/identity and digital and print design projects.
  • Experience designing for mobile and desktop, producing a mixture of digital creative for web, video, and print.
  • Intermediate to advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills, intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to work in a highly effective production function or agency environment.
  • Proven stakeholder management experience with the ability to educate and provide advice on content solutions whilst managing deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated passion for delivering creative and impactful content and experiences.
  • Proven experience delivering multiple projects in an accurate and timely manner with high attention to detail.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and flexible working style.
  • Understanding of new media and digital technology to improve outcomes.
