As the Business Product Manager, manage the mining product portfolio within Australia and New Zealand to ensure that the UGC strategy is implemented in the relevant mining markets in order to grow business profitably. You will be responsible for providing technical know-how, and product application leadership and sales/market development, especially, but not limited to, the technology platforms relating to ground support, to support existing and new business development projects for the Underground Construction (UGC) team at Master Builders Solutions (MBS) Australia and New Zealand.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Civil / Mining Engineering, or related field.
  • More than 10 years in underground construction / mining, in customer facing roles.
  • Ability to identify market opportunities, develop and implement strategies.
  • Experience in leading virtual teams.
  • Engineering background essential.
  • Knowledge of product application and interactions in mining and civil projects.
  • Broad knowledge and experience in Ground Support methodologies and technologies.
  • Strong internal and external relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to the target markets within ANZ
  • Ability to support junior employees and establish credibility in global businesses
  • Ability to develop and work within 'virtual' teams
  • Ability to work in a culturally diversified workforce

Responsibilities:

  • To identify, report and action (if needed) near misses and hazardous conditions as per MBSA guidelines and annual targets.
  • Provide feedback to the team on local industry requirements and work closely with the customers and industry bodies to establish opportunities for innovation.
  • Manage the ANZ product portfolio for Mining applications by ensuring products meet market needs and future trends.
  • Collaborate with global and regional segment managers to stay abreast of latest technologies to diversify MBSA's product offering to the Mining market.
  • Lead regular product development meetings with technical development team to prioritize new product development projects and prepare all marketing documentation.
  • When required, assist with business case analysis for new technology development at the Gate 1 stage of mini-gate and any capital investments.
  • Work with local and global marketing to customise/develop product value propositions to meet the ANZ market – including but not limited to product features & specs, technical services, case studies, marketing materials, etc
  • Launch new products into the market using the global EBA launch excellence process and create strategic plans to meet sales targets. Support product segment managers by monitoring product business / financial performance and make recommendations to ensure profitability is achieved.
  • Ensure pricing is maintained within the approved pricing bands. Continually liaise with operations, technical development & Supply chain on raw material changes and pricing and adjust product pricing accordingly. Ensure product portfolio is being priced for maximum profitability for MBSA.
  • Continuously monitoring your product portfolio close-to-expire stock across ANZ and liaise with relevant sales team members to timely and profitably sell it before it becomes dysfunctional.
  • Continuously monitoring your product portfolio across ANZ and identify and recommend product rationalisation to ensure an optimal, profitable and yet competitive product offer into your market.
  • Maintain the focus on key accounts with national support.
  • Provide clear communication to the sales team regarding sales performance, internal and external activities, projects, competitors and general movement in the market to develop forward strategies and growth.
  • Maintain & develop multi-level communication channels within customer base and within the local industry groups with a view to identifying opportunities for growth for MBSA. Establish a comprehensive network of contacts in order to tap into high levels of expertise so that strategic relationships can develop.
  • Support product development in consultation with EBA Management team and ensure that relevant experience is gained through both internal coaching and external training.
  • When / if required, attend site trials to assist customer with product or technical needs.
  • Continually review market intelligence and competitor product performance. Give strategic guidance and recommendations to Management Team to ensure MBSA maintains its leadership position. Develop a local market strategy for the Mining market in Australia and New Zealand.
