In the role of Principal Advisor NLCS PMO you will provide high level input and coordination to research and program development initiatives aligned with the National Level Crossing Safety Strategy and Work Plan You will coordinate and lead the preparation of briefing notes and reports to inform the NLCSC on the progress of the work program.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to identify and influence innovative and emerging opportunities in partnership with the sector to deliver level crossing safety outcomes.

You will also be able to demonstrate your ability to develop high level collaborative working relationships with other jurisdictions in the coordination and implementation of the national program.


Accountabilities include:

  • Effectively and efficiently coordinate, monitor and report on initiatives
  • Build and maintain networks and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development of effective national partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Coordinate and contribute to research and analysis
  • Monitor and incorporate fiscal, regulatory and community impacts associated with program development and delivery
  • Monitor developments in other Australian and international jurisdictions around emerging technologies that will assist to achieve desired outcomes
  • Contribute to a small work team
  • Take personal responsibility to deliver on agreed outcomes, model high standards of professionalism and ethical behaviour; contribute actively to corporate and divisional goals
  • Ensure a safe and healthy workplace including compliance with workplace health and safety and employee rehabilitation legislation, codes of practice, standards and departmental policy and procedures
