The Director Clinical Operations - Surgical Specialties role reports to the General Manager Surgery Program as a Full time role + ADO with flexible days and hours.

This position is based across all the surgery sites and works with the Directors of allocated surgical units. All employees of Monash Health will be required to work at any Monash Health site.

A Day in the Life


You will work closely with the Surgical Program Executive to deliver on all program service objectives and outcomes including patient safety, financial sustainability, patient access, service delivery and workforce for the allocated surgical units.

You will work as an executive leader in Surgery and Interventional Services to ensure all elective and acute theatre and procedural work is delivered to meet DHHS and Monash Health KPI's and you will partner with the Director of allocated surgical units to deliver on current and future service requirements.

You will also work in partnership with other program leads, medical services and Jessie McPherson Private Hospital to ensure the surgical program elective and acute surgical services are delivered.

What you need:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Postgraduate qualification in a health, nursing, management, leadership, or businessrelated field (or working towards same)
