About the role:

At a high level, some of the work you could expect to do includes:

  • Lead the end to end negotiations of more complex EAs and work with HR Business Partners to develop EA Negotiation Strategic Mandates
  • Provide end to end support on all operational Employee Relations/Industrial Relations and case management matters, acting as an escalation point for HR Business Partners on complex ER matters
  • Conduct formal investigations
  • Interpret and provide specialist advice in relation to the interpretation of industrial agreements and conditions
  • Lead specific Employment and Industrial relations projects
  • Build the IR/ER capability of the P&C Team and Line Leaders
  • Build strong and effective working relationships with relevant Union stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain Policies and Procedures; and management of ongoing legislative compliance (e.g. Secure Jobs, Respect at Work compliance etc.)
  • Provide expert advice to leaders on employment risks, policies and procedures, facilitating informed decisionmaking for both executive and management levels of the business
  • Represent CA in conciliations and disputes at the Fair Work Commission and other relevant forum
  • Ensure compliance and mitigate risk by staying updated with relevant legislation and industrial instruments

About you:

  • Experience in IR/ER Business Partnering, ideally in manufacturing, mining or logistics
  • Demonstrated experience in negotiating & implementing industrial agreements
  • Contemporary knowledge on relevant industry standards, best practice and trends
  • Ability to be an influential and collaborative senior member of the P&C team
  • Strengths in providing leadership and direction to junior members of the P&C team
  • Effective communicator with all levels of the business demonstrating effective listening and negotiating skills
  • Welldeveloped forward planning, analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective networks with industry, colleagues and stakeholders
