Our client is currently seeking a Procurement Officer who will contribute to the financial management and governance of the Department by developing low-risk contracts and providing advice to key stakeholders on procurement and contractual matters.

This role will assist with a range of contract and procurement projects, as well as contribute to the strategic and operational planning of the Financial Accounting Branch.


Role responsibilities:

  • Assist the Senior Procurement Officer and the team in provision of a range of support services related to the Department's procurement and management functions.
  • Provide guidance and support in the development, evaluation and reporting on lowrisk tenders and contracts, including arrangement of evaluation meetings the provision of support and assistance with contract negotiations and the conduct of duediligence and governance assessments.
  • Prepare draft procurement and contract management plans and lowrisk and routine tender documentation, as well as conducting tender evaluations and assisting with a range of contract development and procurement projects.
  • Prepare contract extensions and variations in consultation with stakeholders and external contractors, vendors and suppliers.
  • Asist in the development of highrisk contracts, as required.
  • Provide a consultancy service to stakeholders, as well as contractors, suppliers and vendors on lowrisk and routine contract development and procurement processes.
  • Maintain awareness of industry and Government tenders and developments and their impact on the Department's procurement, contracting and tendering operations.
  • Support the Senior Procurement Officer in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and projects to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Department's procurement policies, systems, processes and governance controls.
  • Contribute to the Department meeting its statutory obligations in relation to relevant WA public sector legislation, ethics, standards and policies.
  • Represent the Branch on forums, committees and working groups, as required.

Role Specific requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of procurement services, including tender and contract management practices and procedures.
  • Possession of or progress toward a relevant tertiary qualification would be considered advantageous.
