Reporting to the Group Continuous Improvement Manager and based at our respective State manufacturing sites (across NSW/ QLD), you will be a key member of a national network of Leaders and CI professionals. Your role as the State CI Leader will be to develop lean & continuous improvement capability in the region and assist all Visy divisions to improve lead & lag performance metrics i.e. Safety & Environmental, Quality, Customer, Delivery, Financial and People metrics.

Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  1. Coaching & Mentoring:
  • Dive deep into our organizational culture and business imperatives to identify opportunities for Lean Thinking & Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies.
  • Provide insightful feedback to leadership at all levels, empowering them to develop and execute practical improvement plans.
  • Cultivate confidence, skills, and capabilities in Lean Thinking tools & techniques among team members.
  1. Assessing Lean Maturity:
  • Evaluate the Lean maturity of Visy sites & teams across diverse divisions and geographic regions.
  • Collaborate with teams to establish realistic improvement targets and actionable plans, ensuring senior leadership remains focused on implementation.
  1. Facilitating Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
  • Support improvement initiatives within sites, across locations, and throughout Visy's business units and divisions.
  • Coach teams on the correct utilization of improvement systems and tools, ensuring sustainable results.
  1. Training and Capability Uplift:
  • Deliver engaging classroom and on-the-job training sessions in core Lean disciplines, adapting to various learning styles and conditions.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Systems or a related field.
  • Proven experience and an expert in Lean Thinking & Continuous Improvement methodologies, ideally in a manufacturing industry setting.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills with the ability to inspire and empower others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams, influence enthusiasm and positive energy for effective change .
  • Demonstrated ability to assess Lean maturity and drive meaningful change initiatives.
  • A passion for learning and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • A strong sense of enduring and systematic improvement.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to drive projects from concept to completion.
  • You pride yourself on your outstanding communications skills and it is your ability to build relationships with external and internal stakeholders from all levels that makes you a true enabler.
