Your new role


This 6 Month Contact Accounts Payable Officer will be tasked with the processing and managing the day to day payments of the Fund in a timely and accurate manner.

You will need to have good attention to detail in order to ensure the data reported is accurate and complete.

From here you will be required to translate the data accumulated in the accounting systems (e.g. Oracle) into relevant information to support decision making, statutory reporting and BAS returns. This will require a continuous review process and involve challenging assumptions, identification of trends and recommendation of solutions.

Some key responsibilities but not limited to;

  • Monitor all vendor payments and agreements to find best value for spend.
  • Support the purchasing analyst in the delivery of insights and spend data analytics.
  • Monitor all payments and expenditures including payroll, purchase orders, invoices and statements.
  • Populate, maintain and track Accounts Payable data within system (Oracle).
  • Review and monitor the invoice coding into system and initiate payment processing.
  • Create and produce ad hoc accounts payable reports as required, including exception reporting for discrepancies.
  • Establish strong relationships within the internal Finance function and businesses across the Fund.
  • Work with procurement to confirm vendor engagements and support the provision of data for spend analytics to aid decision making.

What you'll need

  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Extensive experience in similar accounts payable roles.
  • Outstanding customer service responding to supplier and internal staff queries in a professional manner and on a timely basis.
  • Analytical & financial management skills, including the ability to identify when data and analysis is materially incorrect, and implement solutions.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder relationship skills, including the ability to initiate, maintain and develop relationships with peers with the objective of gaining cooperation and meeting deadlines.
  • Competence and experience in the use and maintenance of accounts payable systems ( e.g. Oracle)
