  • The Assessment Writer will play a key role in designing innovative assessment for a project, funded by the Department of Education (DET). RMIT and another leading TAFE have been selected to lead the development of the project's resources in collaboration with industry partners.


Working as a member of the project team, the Assessment Writer will have responsibility for developing a suite of streamlined and customisable assessments in collaboration with the partner TAFE, industry partners and in accordance with RMIT policies, procedures and practices.

The Assessment Writer will coordinate the development of assessments and will play a vital role in ensuring the development of assessments is relevant to current industry practice, Training Packages, compliance requirements and quality benchmarks and; developed within the required timelines and the scope of the project.


The position works closely with the project as well as the Department of Education (DET) and industry partners to ensure that stakeholder needs are met.


To be successful in this position, you'll have:

  • Proven skills and experience in VET assessment development and the development of innovative, industry driven and compliant assessment tools.-
  • Working knowledge of assessment principles and rules of evidence.-
  • Ability to integrate current practices and trends in digital technologies and progressive pedagogical practices into assessment development.-
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team to achieve project outcomes.-
  • High-level interpersonal and professional communication skills to work effectively with individuals and teams of staff with different levels of technical and VET knowledge.-
  • Demonstrated capacity to work both independently and in multi-disciplinary team environments.-
  • Ability to assess priorities, exercise discretionary judgment and negotiate for positive outcomes

Qualifications:

  • A qualification in vocational education and training is desirable.
