As an Account Specialist, you will be working in a hybrid capacity to establish Novartis as a strong partner to both Cardiologists and General Practitioners launching a product to market as well as promoting our existing heart failure medication.

You will be joining a vibrant and exciting franchise to be a true team player working closely with your peers across the commercial business, with a focus on reducing unnecessary hospitalisations for Heart Failure.

This role will report into Drew Musch, Regional Sales Manager (ad interim)

  • Responsibility for developing the maximum sales of the company's products in the cardiology area through full coverage of all contacts and by becoming a valuable partner to the health care professionals.
  • Deliver outstanding sales presentations to customers by fully planning each call with specific objectives; maintaining the customer's interest; overcoming objections positively; reframing product features into customer benefits and the competent use of relevant literature
  • Maintain and improve knowledge of products, company developments, customers, and competitors. This will also include a full and complete knowledge of the product information and relevant clinical papers, and clinical developments within the therapeutic area
  • Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all weekly reports, maintenance of territory records, handling of enquiries and complaints quickly and professionally
  • Contribute positively to the Sales and Marketing team through cooperative relationships and collaborative efforts to achieve team goals

Minimum requirements

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Solid experience in specialty customer-facing sales roles within the pharmaceutical industry will be highly regarded
  • Proven consistent high level of success in achieving objectives and goals within sales and cross functionally
  • Fantastic record of tactical business planning and execution will be critical to be successful in this role
  • Proven continuous collaboration and interpersonal skills with internal and external customers, including the ability to lead without authority
  • Completed or near completion of the Medicine's Australia course is essential
