In this role, you'll:

  • Have the opportunity to deliver partnering and engagement activities, including assessment, advice and assisting in the development and delivery of relevant transport programs across the region and act as the TfNSW representative for regional communities in NSW.
  • Manage key relationships with stakeholders including councils, community groups, other government departments, service providers and operators to ensure community needs are met and programs are delivered.
  • Collaborate with regional customers, communities, and key stakeholders to inform movement and place planning, to champion their needs and achieve integrated community outcomes.


This is a Fixed term (till 21/02/2025) position, two days a week, offering flexible, hybrid working arrangements, with the office hub being Wollongong.

About you

  • You are a big picture thinker with the ability to build collaborative working relationships with councils, regional communities, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • You have a passion for road safety and a background in engineering, transport planning or a related field, along with experience engaging with the community and a commitment to understanding our customers' transport needs.
  • You will have the ability to capture an audience by communicating technical information effectively. You will have proven project management experience, flexibility to adjust to changing priorities, and the confidence to converse with all levels of stakeholders.
  • A familiarity operating in a State or Local Government environment, and tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in a related field would also position you for success in this role.
