Our Positive Behaviour Support Model encompasses the multidisciplinary expertise of Behaviour Support Practitioners, Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists to understand the drivers of behaviours from a communication, sensory and environmental perspective.
Job Description
Outcomes Connect Australia (OCA) management are excited to announce that we're expanding into sunny Queensland Our growth plans see us needing to recruit experienced Behaviour Support Practitiioners who have current experience delivering positive behaviour supports to participants in Queensland, tojoin our professional and friendly team.
Thanks to our commitment to service excellence, demand for our services has increased which enables our expansion and creates the need to find new practitioners in the Chermside area. We will consider candidates who have a sound knowledge of The Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework for reducing the use of restrictive practices, as well as a strong commitment to delivering evidence-based, functional behavioural outcomes.
As a Behaviour Support Practitioner you will...
- Support our clients (NDIS participants), along with their families and/or carers, to identify their needs through assessment and person-centred planning
- Identify meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising The Positive Behaviour Support Capability Famework, with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices, in the home and community
- Develop, deliver and evaluate evidence-based support plans within a complex support space
- Ensure individual plans reflect our clients' goals, passions and strengths
- Build the knowledge, capacity and strengths of those who support our clients - family, carers, friends, etc

About you
- Current suitability with the NDIS Commission as a registered Behaviour Support Practitioner
- Experienced providing positive behaviour supports in Queensland to participants living in Queensland
- Demonstrated ability to work positively in a multidisciplinary team
- Outstanding communication, influencing and interpersonal skills
- Confident computer skills
- Sound writing skills
- Current drivers licence and own reliable vehicle
Qualifications
- Formal qualifications of relevance to providing supports to people with behaviours of concern AND/OR considerable experience providing support to people with complex behaviours, either professionally and/or personally, is essential
