Your Opportunity

As the LMS Coordinator, you will:

  • Provide expert Learning Management System (LMS) administration services to TAFE Queensland Gold Coast, including the provision of learning objects to teachers and students for use in blended and online learning environments.
  • Liaise with the Customer and Data Services teams, and the wider business, to ensure required enrolment and learning object information is received and actioned in a timely manner prior to the commencement of student study.
  • Provide support for the LMS (Connect) and liaise with the central Learning Management support team in relation to the technical support and issues management of Connect and the Learning Content Management System (ResourceBank).
This position reports to the Business Transition Coordinator
This is a Temporary, Full-Time opportunity, to 28/03/2025 unless otherwise determined.

The position will be based primarily at Ashmore however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership on individual and team performance and future goals.
  • Oversee and contribute to the daily operation and administration of the TAFE Queensland Gold Coasts Technology Support Team, Technology Support Helpdesk, SMS Support Unit and LMS in line with policies, procedures, and business requirements.
  • Coordinate the development of course shells, unit offerings, course hubs and orientation within defined timelines to release on the Learning Management System/s for educator and student use.
  • Lead activities, including engaging with Educational Team Leaders (ETL) and educators, to ensure TAFE Queensland's LMS system/s product meets the expectations of clients and is reliable and delivers quality outcomes.
  • Support enhancements to the Student Management System (SMS) and any other future change processes.
  • Lead the provision of advice and support to staff on use and maintenance of Connect and ResourceBank content.
  • Represent TAFE Queensland Gold Coast in statewide meetings and projects relating to the SMS, Connect/ResourceBank and share gathered information with stakeholders.
  • Make decisions on behalf of TAFE Queensland Gold Coast regarding Connect and Resourcebank systemic enhancements.
  • Contribute to or undertake specific projects or activities as directed, relevant to this role, ensuring that identified outcomes and timelines are met.
  • Develop and maintain localized policies, procedures, work instructions and forms within TAFE Queensland's quality assurance framework for blended and online delivery.
  • Support the specialised nature of the Technology Support Help Desk through effective and efficient communication and the provision of information and coordination of training to support processes and reduce client issues.
  • Review and report inconsistencies highlighted in the Learning Management System/s Analytics, identifying potential challenges.
  • Coordinate the setup of online and blended course materials, related products and activities where Master Product is not available.
  • Maintain and develop constructive working relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Undertake research and development on matters relating to business functions.
  • Maintain currency of knowledge relating to online and eLearning products and related information technology systems.
  • Contribute to improvement in business processes and practices.

The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:

  • Sound knowledge of the structure and management of database systems such as TAFE Queensland's Student Management System (SMS) and Brightspace Learning Management System (LMS) in order to support delivery staff and work within the Learning Technologies team.
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral) including the ability to liaise with both technical and nontechnical staff in relation to the provision of educational resources via an LMS.
