    The Role:
The role is based at the RAAF Base Edinburgh.

There is a requirement to travel to other Defence Fuel sites, from time to time, including Woodside, Port Wakefield and overnight trips to Woomera.


Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Reporting to the supervisor, provide support to Ventia Fuel Services in delivering the Estate Maintenance & Operations Services (EMOS) contract for the Department of Defence.
  • Identify, plan, manage & execute preventative and corrective maintenance tasks as well as provide technical assistance as required.
  • Work with other maintenance personnel to maintain the DFI equipment to agreed schedules, procedures and Defence and Australian Standards.
  • Effectively diagnose problems and provide technical support as required for problem solving maintenance issues within the mechanical discipline.
  • Provide occasional assistance to the project team for project works as required.
  • Arrange & perform monthly site visits to Defence Fuel Installations across various Defence Bases within South Australia with the use of company supplied vehicle.
  • Assist the Supervisor with job timing, work scheduling, managing responsive maintenance as well as make recommendations to the Supervisor in relation to work practices, which could improve quality, increase productivity and reduce costs.
  • Communicate with Subcontractors as required including base access/escorting for some specialised responsive maintenance tasks.
  • Completion and administration of maintenance inspection records.

About You:

  • Certificate III Engineering (Mechanical Trade).
  • Equivalent Industry Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial or Mining. (Highly regarded)
  • Computer literate.
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence.
Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance.
As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen.
