Position Summary:


UNSW Business School is a leader in business education and research in the Asian region and one of the largest Business Schools in Australia with more than 16,500 students, 500 academic and professional staff and more than 80,000 alumni and partners.

The Business School offers a full suite of business degree programs at undergraduate, postgraduate, coursework and research levels, including the AGSM MBA programs and a range of Executive Programs.


The Event Coordinator supports the Career Accelerator and Student Engagement (CASE) team in coordination and delivery of major events such as Orientation, Onboarding, Awards and Prizes and all other career development, industry and community events for Business School students.

There has been a significant growth in events this year, and this role will support the further growth of opportunities as the student population increases.


Accountabilities:

  • Provide support for the blended delivery of a broad range of student facing activities, events and initiatives including Orientation events, information sessions, competitions and small and large scale events.
  • Assist with the planning, delivery and administration of student activities, in partnership with CASE Operations, Program and Engagement teams and other internal stakeholders.
  • Delivery of online events and activities across a range of platforms including Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance at activities, events and initiatives.
  • Provide support with the coordination of UNSW Business School merchandise for use at events, including processing of orders, tracking inventory and administering the online merchandise platform.
  • Develop, foster and maintain effective working relationships within the Education Portfolio and relevant staff in the Faculty, divisions and other internal stakeholders.

Skills and Experience:

To be considered you will hold Australian Working Rights or Australian Citizenship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the planning, coordination and delivery of events.
  • Advanced time management, organisational and problemsolving skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to make sound judgements and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and contributing to projects and initiatives.
