The Service

KU Ourimbah Preschool and Children's Centre is located on the beautiful grounds of the Central Coast Campus, University of Newcastle. KU Ourimbah caters for children aged up to 6 years of age, Monday to Friday between 7am and 6pm.


At KU Ourimbah, the educators proudly incorporate nature pedagogy into their program through immersing children in nature which allows the children the opportunity to connect with the natural world, to solve problems in a landscape that is not uniform and offers challenges, inspiration, beauty, unpredictability and interest.

Along with this, the team have a strong focus on sustainability.

The Role
We are looking for an experienced director with proven leadership qualities and strong pedagogical practice.

The successful applicant
will hold a teaching qualification in early childhood education, understand the value of partnering with families and is keen to put their skills into practice by becoming the next leader of an established team.


This is a
permanent, full time position that will see you working
8 hours per day, Monday to Friday while accruing
ONE monthly Rostered Day Off (RDO).

To be considered for this role, it is essential you have:

  • A recognised Early Childhood Teaching degree level of qualification in Early Childhood or similar as approved by Australian Children's Education and Quality Authority (ACECQA)
  • Eligible to become a Nominated Supervisor
  • NESA Teacher Accreditation
  • A current NSW Employee Working with Children Check
  • Current and valid First Aid and CPR, as well as
    separate Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificate
  • Completed & Current training in Child Protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children
  • Working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Frameworks (EYLF)
  • Professional level of written and verbal communication skills
