About the Role

The Research Engagement Project Officer (REPO) is a vital member of the Chancellery Research and Enterprise (CRE) Portfolio, contributing to the realisation of the university's research and innovation goals outlined in Advancing Melbourne 2030. With a focus on fostering strategic partnerships and collaborations both within and outside the university, the REPO will coordinate high-level engagements, workshops, and visits, facilitating dialogue between key stakeholders including university executives, academics, and external counterparts. Through close collaboration with various portfolios and subject experts, the REPO will provides valuable insight and guidance on research engagement activities, ensuring smooth administration and effective delivery of objectives across the university.

Your responsibilities will include:

Engagement and delivery of key inbound and outbound delegations through effective communication with Research Collaboration and the Executive Support Team to deliver strategic outcomes relevant to those delegations Lead and collaborate with colleagues across the Portfolio to deliver on research engagement activities and programs of work Review, Implement, and manage the archive and database of stakeholder engagement, key information, advice, and briefing notes

Who we are looking for

You will possess exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities, facilitating effective engagement with both external stakeholders and university personnel. You will also have strong time management and organisational skills, coupled with meticulous attention to detail, to efficiently prioritise and manage tasks, ensuring deadlines are met.

You will also have:

Completed a degree-level qualification with subsequent relevant work-related experience or equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Demonstrated experience in the organisation of public events, seminars, delegations, and visits, with the ability to achieve high-quality outcomes Demonstrated experience problem problem-solving, including thinking creatively and working collaboratively across teams.
