  • Establish (where relevant) and review BGH Capital portfolio companies Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions inventories, improving maturity.
  • Educate, facilitate, and co-create emissions reduction targets for portfolio companies and decarbonisation pathways based on quantitative scenario analysis models.
  • Develop and own quantitative decarbonisation tools, and integrate these for use within portfolio companies via close working relationships with senior leaders.
  • Co-create and facilitate climate risk and opportunity assessments and workshops, educating and engaging portfolio company leadership, and translating this to management action.
  • Assist portfolio company reporting to meet compliance requirements for incoming climate-related financial disclosure information, leveraging tools and analysis.

About You

You are passionate about and dedicated to decarbonisation and driving positive climate outcomes pragmatically and commercially for businesses. You are able to manage climate impacts and decarbonisation across a variety of companies and industries and foster robust relationships with a multitude of stakeholders.

Required Skills And Proficiencies

  • 4+ years' proven experience in a relevant field, e.g. sustainability/climate consulting, in-house climate manager, risk management, energy, and emissions management, etc.
  • Climate modelling experience, with high proficiency in Excel and other modelling tools.
  • Comfortable on building models, decarbonisation plans and bringing these to life alongside each business and working in a variety of environments.
  • Presents professionally, an excellent communicator (both written and verbal).
  • Accustomed to managing the often competing demands of businesses in regard to sustainability and climate alongside financial pressures.
  • Confident and willing to support reporting on progress in line with incoming climate-related financial disclosure standards.
