The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare.

As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability.

For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need.

Are you an experienced leader with a passion for people policy and workplace relations? We have an exciting opportunity to join the NDIA's People Policy and Workplace Relations Branch.


Our People Policy and Workplace Relations Branch support the broader Agency through expert people policy development, education, productive engagement, and relationships.

The branch will oversee the implementation of the Enterprise Agreement (EA), create, and revise contemporary people policies which align to the EA and NDIAs vision, values, and strategic goals.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:Interpreting, providing advice and applying relevant legislation including the legislation governing human resource practices in the public sector, including the Fair Work Act 2009 and the Public Service Act 1999Managing, resolving and responding to a range of employment matters and enquiries in line with the NDIA EA, work practices and relevant legislation including remuneration aspects.

Researching and preparing material, briefing papers, and correspondence.
Working collaboratively with the wider division to ensure alignment, knowledge sharing, and to build understanding of business needs.

You will possess strong leadership skills, be able to influence and negotiate on behalf of the branch with multiple stakeholders.

You will be passionate about HR and committed to providing sound advice on complex and sensitive matters.
Our ideal applicants will have a good understanding of enterprise agreements, policies, procedures, and legislation.


In addition to the above qualities, we are also looking for candidates who can coordinate and assume responsibility to undertake detailed or sensitive projects.

This may include performing varied activities involving many different and unrelated processes or methods that may impact on strategic or operational outcomes.

We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.
