In the role of Principal Advisor (Cabinet) you will work in the Cabinet, Legislation and Liaison Office (CLLO) to review Cabinet submissions and prepare them for proactive release.

You will oversee this process for the department and work with policy areas to ensure TMR is compliant and meets all statutory timeframes for release.

The CLLO team also manages appointments to Queensland Government bodies in the Minister's portfolio and reports on Government Election Commitments and Cabinet Decisions.

As part of your role you will also assist your CLLO colleagues to manage these important elements of the Minister's Cabinet business.


Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the Department of the Premier and Cabinet (DPC) on the implementation of, and administrative processes associated with, the proactive release of Cabinet submissions to ensure TMR is compliant with all aspects of DPC's proactive release policy (the policy).
  • Critically reviewing TMR's Cabinet forward timetable to identify inscope Cabinet submissions for proactive release and working with policy areas to ensure submissions are managed appropriately.
  • Working with authors to prepare submissions for proactive release by reviewing content and redacting information where appropriate, within the timeframes stipulated by the policy.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders, including the offices of the Minister for Transport and Main Roads and Minister for Digital Services, the Director-General, TMR, internal business areas, DPC and other government departments to achieve the expected strategic outcomes in relation to proactive release.
  • Representing TMR at meetings, committees and interdepartmental working groups as TMR's specialist on proactive release.
  • Coordinating and providing timely, independent, strategic and operational advice to internal TMR stakeholders on the proactive release of Cabinet submissions including providing training and information materials to submission authors so they are fully across the requirements.
  • Working with other members of the CLLO team to help manage the Minister's Cabinet business and manage the secure storage, handling and dissemination of Cabinet submissions and decisions in compliance with TMR guidelines.
