Easy iCare we empower our Participants to live a meaningful and rewarding life. By partnering with our Participants, we can help them thrive and develop independent skills.
We need Disability Support Staff that can:
- Work within a supportive team that values open communication and teamwork.
- Prepared to complete ongoing training regarding the participant.
Immediate start for this 2:- 24/7 program consisting of Day, Afternoon and Active Nights.
We require disability support workers to work regularly, consistently to enable us to build long-term relationships with the participant.
The role involves:
- Working with: Severe Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual disorder (ID), Epilepsy, Nonverbally communication with others, Sensory seeking behaviours with underdeveloped sensory sensitivities, Impaired cognitive functioning, Behavioural support
- Assistance with community access
- Personal care
- Transportation, social engagement & appointments
- Light domestic duties meal preparation and cleaning
- Professional or life experience supporting someone with a disability
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach
- Must be flexible with times
You will need to have:
- Experience with Epilepsy, ASD and ID
- Experience managing and responding to difficult/challenging behaviours
- Minimum certificate in III disability or individual support or able to prove that you are working towards one of the certificates (Work Placement can be provided by Easy iCare)
- Good to excellent computer skills
- Good to excellent Verbal and Written skills
- Current Victorian drivers' license
- Current First Aid
- Current CPR
NDIS employment screening check:
- Working with children check
- Employee
- Police check
- Medication administration certificate
- Right to work in Australia
- Proof of COVID19 Vaccinations and Boosters
