Role:
Environmental Health Officer
Duration: 5th-29th September, high potential for extension
Salary:
$ $48.39p/h + Super at 11%
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Undertake the following with under the supervision of the Coordinator Public Health and with the support of the Team Leader Public Health:
- Inspect and/or assess registered establishments and take appropriate action where required to ensure compliance with the Food Act 1984, Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008, relevant regulations, standards and codes of practice.
- Investigate community complaints under the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008, providing an exceptional level of customer service and a whole of Council approach.
- Provide advice, information and assistance to proprietors in implementing their Food Safety Programs.
- Investigate the outbreak of any food borne illness or cases of adulteration.
- A tertiary qualification in Health Science (Public & Environmental Health) or equivalent, and eligible for membership to Environmental Health Professionals Australia.
- Some experience working as an Environmental Health Officer or equivalent
- Demonstrated computer proficiency skills
- Current Victorian Drivers License
