About the Organisation

Randstad Canberra is currently looking for a highly skilled Senior Procurement Officer to join our team for a 12-month Non-ongoing opportunity within the Federal Government. We need someone with a strategic mindset and a solid background in procurement and contract management. You'll be crucial in ensuring our procurement processes are efficient, compliant, and provide value for money.

Your New Role

  • Lead and manage end-to-end procurement processes, including planning, tendering, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies in line with organizational goals and government policies.
  • Offer expert advice and support on procurement and contract management to internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders for optimal outcomes.
  • Prepare and present procurement documentation, such as business cases, procurement plans, and reports.
  • Conduct market analysis and keep updated on industry trends to identify innovation and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Mentor and support junior procurement staff to create a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a similar procurement role in the government sector.
  • Deep understanding of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and related legislation.
  • Strong skills in negotiation, communication, and interpersonal relations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Tertiary qualifications in procurement, supply chain management, business, or related fields are advantageous.

What You'll Need to Succeed

To excel in this role, you must be an Australian Citizen with relevant experience in a Government Department or a similar role. An active Baseline clearance is required. Successful candidates will receive a 12-month Non-ongoing contract with a possible extension. Permanent employees should apply for an S26 transfer.
