About the Role:


A Full-time Scientific Officer position is currently available within the Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology Laboratory in the Gledswood Hills area.

Different shifts will be available as the laboratory will be operational 24/7.
The successful applicant should have two years' minimum experience in Haematology, Morphology and Blood Bank. While not essential, Biochemistry would be an advantage.

The appointee must be reliable, flexible, willing to work as part of a tam and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Selection Criteria:

  • An appropriate degree in Medical Science or recognised equivalent.
  • Eligible for professional membership of the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists.
  • Experience in a diagnostic laboratory.
  • The ability to work with a team with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work with a small group with variation in rostered hours.
  • An ability to adhere to Quality Control procedures.
  • Motivated with good attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in histology will be seen as an advantage.
  • Must be able to live and work in Australia on a permanent basis.
  • Prior to and at all times during employment, applicants for this position must have the appropriate working rights to work in Australia, and will be required to sign an acceptance that the Company may conduct a police check._
  • Applicants must be vaccinated against COVID19 including booster shots and have an influenza vaccination annually._
