About the Early Childhood Outcomes Division
Within the NSW Department of Education, the Early Childhood Outcomes Division leads the implementation of the Early Years Reforms.


There are multiple ongoing opportunities available in the Commissioning Directorate, a Directorate that is part of the Early Childhood Outcomes Division.

The Directorate is standing up a state-wide network of staff to work alongside children, families and the early childhood sector.


About the role
We have multiple roles on offer as part of a newly established state-wide network.

As part of a purpose-driven, diverse, and inclusive team you will be responsible for implementing key initiatives under the Early Years Commitment.

You will work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholder to design, scale-up and implement significant reforms to improve outcomes for our littlest learners.

You will be able to bring your policy, project management, program delivery, stakeholder engagement and change management expertise to drive delivery across NSW.

A valid Class C driver's license is preferred as some travel is expected for all staff working in the newly established state-wide network


About you
As our

Assistant Project Officer you will need the following:

  • Experience in supporting project and program delivery or design and implementation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including a proven ability to negotiate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver detailed reports, briefings and presentations on projects under delivery to a variety of audiences
  • Experience in managing complex and sensitive issues
  • Experience working in a large or complex organisation.
As our

Project Officer you will need the following:

  • Experience in project or program management or design and implementation

Essential requirements of the role

  • A valid Working with Children Check for paid employment.

Key knowledge and experience

  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
