Continuing full time position.

Exciting opportunity supporting the Information Technology portfolio as part of our strategic procurement Team.


Our strategic procurement team provide the leadership and procurement management partnering and process across a portfolio of specialist areas to stakeholders across the University.

In this role you will promote cost and service improvement through the implementation of change, consideration of:
risk, variety, quantity, supplier base, price, total cost and continual development of process, quality and stakeholder experience.

Your strengths will include bringing a continuous improvement mindset to the role, along with excellent stakeholder engagement skills.

Your extensive procurement experience will showcase your capabilities in creating and implementing comprehensive and integrated strategic procurement processes and reviewing contractual agreements, while ensuring suppliers are fully accountable in providing services for the University.


To be successful you will need:

  • Procurement management experience gained within a complex commercial environment.
  • Experience with tender processes, systems and a broad understanding of contract management issues relating to Category Management
  • Experience in Category Management with the ability to contribute to the development and implementation of procurement strategies, policies, processes, guidelines, pricing and cost analysis, alongside robust performance monitoring, commodity and contract management reviews as part of a Category Management process and reporting.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, consultation and negotiation skills, including the ability to influence and liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders in a way that encourages support and respect.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including effective presentations to stakeholders to secure support for proposed strategies.
  • Experience or exposure to procurement management within the IT domain would be ideal, however not a requirement.
