**(HE08) $106,561 to $119,550 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.**

**Fixed term, full-time opportunity available for 18 months.**

**Exciting opportunity within the Indirect Strategic Procurement portfolio, settling in with an established Strategic procurement Team**.

Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Procurement, the Category Manager will provide leadership in respect of the commodity or service category/ies assigned and manage the procurement process for the assigned category in order to achieve the desired outcomes at lowest overall cost to the University. The successful applicant will promote cost and service improvement through the implementation of change in specification, risk, variety, quantity, supplier base, price, total cost etc. and continual development of process, quality and stakeholder experience.

The Category Manager will be continuous improvement focussed with excellent stakeholder engagement skills, strategically minded and fully competent in reviewing contractual agreements while ensuring suppliers are fully accountable in providing services for the University.

**To be successful you will need**:

- Commercial experience with involvement in the procurement process, including exposure to professions aligned to specific categories, contracts and supplies.
- Experience with tender processes, systems with broad understanding of contract management issues ideally relating to Category Management.
- Experience in Category Management with the ability to contribute to the development of procurement strategies, policies, processes, guidelines and pricing, cost analysis, and the implementation of same with performance monitoring, commodity and contract management reviews as part of a Category Management process and reporting.
- Highly developed interpersonal, consultation and negotiation skills, including the ability to influence and liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders in a way that encourages support and respect.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including effective presentations to stakeholders to secure support for proposed strategies.
