Kinetic IT is in search of a Lead Security Analyst to join our SOC team on a full-time basis. As a Lead Security Analyst, you will collaborate closely with technical teams and our lead security engineer to enhance and align the services provided by our SOC to our customers. Customer engagement is vital as you will be responsible for preparing and presenting regular reports on security incidents, trends, and overall security posture to SOC management and clients during monthly meetings. The ultimate aim of this role is to strengthen our SOC services and offer valuable mentorship to junior analysts within the team.

If this sounds exciting to you, you should have:

  • Demonstrated experience in a SOC Leadership Role
  • Expertise with two or more of the following: Crowdstrike, Log Rhythm, Fortinet, Sentinal, Azure, Lighthouse
  • Certification in two or more of the following: CISSP, CompTIA Security+, Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Cloud Security Engineer (CCSE)

Your responsibilities in this role:

  • Showcase leadership skills and aid in Professional Development for the SOC team
  • Evaluate and suggest security tools and technologies to enhance SOC capabilities
  • Collaborate with platform support engineers and SOC Solution Lead to align and steer the SOC Roadmap
  • Foster a growth mindset within the SOC Analyst team and embrace efficient ways of working to drive improvements across SOC services including Threat Intelligence and Threat Hunting
  • Take ownership of the SIEM and associated enhancement activities
  • Ensure SOC operations adhere to relevant regulations, standards, and best practices
  • Continuously assess and refine SOC processes and procedures to boost efficiency and effectiveness, and collaborate with the Service Management team to pinpoint enhancements to processes and governance
  • Enhance the Knowledgebase with SOC Analysts to refine Playbooks and Use cases
  • Devise and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks and enhance the overall security posture for the SOC and clients
  • Deliver regular reports on security incidents, trends, and overall security posture to SOC management and clients during monthly meetings
  • Effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders to furnish updates and recommendations on security matters
  • Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and attack techniques to guide the SOC's defensive strategies

Please note: This role has the potential to be filled by someone with experience and qualifications beyond specific SOC Analyst experience. Crucial to the team is the ability to assume a leadership role within the SOC and engage with clients at a mature tactical level.
