This role is located in the ACT region. It is essential that candidates are Australian Citizens and possess or are eligible for a Baseline security clearance.

Role Overview

As a seasoned Cyber Security Analyst, you will play a crucial role in the planning, execution, and evaluation of departmental systems to fulfill cyber security standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in delivering cyber security risk management and analytical services for both on-premises and cloud-based environments, addressing their unique security challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure alignment of security expectations with the Information Security Manual (ISM), Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), Essential 8, and other industry best practices.
  • Assist in the preparation for Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) activities, ensuring thorough documentation.
  • Conduct technical assessments and endorsements of proposed technical solutions.
  • Identify and recommend enhancements to improve the security posture of the department's network and information systems.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience as a Security Analyst, with a strong track record in security monitoring, access control, application patching, and hardening.
  • Familiarity with Australian government security frameworks, including ISM, PSPF, and Essential 8, in both large on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Relevant industry certifications and qualifications are highly regarded.
