The
Adrian Costa Clinical Trials Centre (ACCTC) is a key part of Barwon Health's strategy to embed research excellence into every aspect of clinical care.

A thriving clinical trials program is fundamental to the delivery of innovative and evidence based care, and attracting the best and brightest to our team.

The centre will improve training opportunities, research capacity and consumer access to the best available treatments.

About the role


The Research Operations Manager provides effective leadership to and is accountable for the strategic, operational and governance performance of the ACCTC.

This includes supporting the CMO and Clinical Director of Research in delivery of the Barwon Health Strategic Priorities.

Tertiary qualification in science or health related specialty

Previous Clinical trial manager experience

Desirable:
Management experience across all research disciplines

Extensive experience and understanding of the management of Clinical Trials.

Proficiency with the processes and legislation which regulate and govern Clinical Trials

Essential:
Extensive experience in generating and implementation of reports, procedural manuals and operation policies.

Essential:
Experience in interacting with industry, study sponsors, as well as hospital governance and ethics bodies.

Essential:
Management skills, including creating and meeting cost centre budgets

Essential:
Demonstrated capacity to negotiate with industry to win competitive contracts and improved revenue.

Essential:
An understanding of research ethics and governance.


Essential:
Accounting skills.


Essential:
Communication and leadership skills.


Essential:
Ability to utilise collaborative problem solving approaches to mediate conflict and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external collaborators

Desirable:
Experience in academic institution or research related industry eg. Pharmaceuticals
