The School of Medicine has an opportunity for an Associate Research Fellow to join the Institute for Mental and Physical Health and Clinical Translation (IMPACT), which focuses on developing new and effective responses to mental and physical health problems.

Using cutting-edge approaches to translate medical research from the laboratory to real-world solutions, these researchers have a shared aim to improve the quality of life of our global community.


Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with the creative development, management and evaluation of ehealth interventions aimed at enhancing mental health and wellbeing outcomes.
  • Initiate and conduct highquality research and creative activities generating high impact outputs.
  • Develop working relationship with the team as well as supervisors and mentors.

Key selection criteria for this role:

  • Post-graduate qualifications in psychology, social work or occupational therapy (i.e. Honours, Masters, or PhD), OR training in the development and delivery of digital health information or programs to the public.
  • Evidence of research experience and skills that are sufficient to take an active role in helping to coordinate clinical trials and assist with the communication of research findings in presentations and journal articles.
  • Experience in the preparation, proofing, delivery, management and troubleshooting of ehealth interventions or online courses.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex health concepts into engaging and easy to understand digital information and tools.
  • Demonstrated organisational ability, project and data management and analysis (qualitative or quantitative) skills.
  • Communicate in a respectful way with participants and support them in the use of the digital platforms.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with research participants, colleagues, and collaborators.
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to confidentiality and ethical requirements for clinical trials.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
