Requirements:The IT Security Manager will be required to work from Canberra and operate in a flexible and agile way in support of a dynamic work area. Reinforcement of the Cyber Security and Assurance function is essential in ensuring that the Department has the ability to identify and manage cyber risk and ensure that the particular capabilities that rely on ICT are managed in appropriately and adhere to the Department's Cyber security governance and compliance policies.

Specific tasks for the Level 3 IT Security Management Contractor will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Coordinate and manage relevant ITSO tasking allocations and activities
  • Generate, review, sustain, and maintain relevant system CS&WO documents and artefacts
  • Coordinate and support vulnerability and patch management of relevant systems and associated reporting.
  • Coordinate and support ICT incident response, collate statistics and analyse trends.
  • Coordinate and support the remediation of CS&WO deficiencies in relevant systems through the submission of reports (including defect reports).
  • Coordinate and conduct audits as required.
  • Provide reporting as per the governance reporting requirements, and as required.
  • Maintain a database of stakeholder engagement and compliance.
  • Alert noncompliance to the relevant authorities
  • Other tasks as specified.

Deliverables

The resource will also be required to:

  • Engage with relevant stakeholders, identifying any gaps, risks, or issues and report findings;
  • Be prepared to provide specialist advice to Working groups and senior committee's;
  • Successfully collaborate with APS and other Departmental contractors;
  • Collaborate with the ICT Security Office, and other IT Security Managers and IT Security Officers within the Departments units;
  • Manage unit IT Security Officers;
  • Develop briefs, updates and status reports as required

Skillset and Experience Requirements
The IT Security Manager will require the following experience and qualifications:

  • Minimum NV2 Security Clearance required
  • Task requires a resource with a minimum of five years' experience in ICT and/or cyber security.
  • Knowledge of, or experience with Microsoft, VMWare, Cisco, Linux, and security products or environments.
  • Knowledge of APS ICT environment is preferred.
