About the Team
The Worker Compensation team sits within the Injury and Claims Management team within the Corporate Services division. The Worker Compensation team manages worker compensation claims for Transports self-insured agencies.

The opportunity


Reporting to the Team Leader, we have a Permanent opportunity for a Claims Advisor to join the Worker Compensation team.

The role is hybrid with a mix of working from home and the office with office-based work to be completed from one of Transports for NSW offices in Burwood, Newcastle, Wollongong or Grafton.

The Claims advisor - Workers Compensation provides best practice case management.

The position is a source of soundly based workers compensation advice and works to reduce claims costs and minimise compensation premiums/contributions.

It works in a team environment complementing; the work of others to ensure the efficient and effective management of claims in compliance with NSW legislation, State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) and Insurance & Care NSW (iCare) requirements.


Key accountabilities:

  • Ensure that claims are managed in accordance with NSW legislation, policies, guidelines of SIRA and iCARE including Transports claims management framework.
  • Be an agile member of the Injury and Claims Management team accepting that team members are expected to work across claims managed under selfinsurance, selfadministered and TMF frameworks.
  • Work cooperatively within a team, exchange information and assist other team members to achieve team objectives and work outcomes.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service with internal and external key stakeholders
  • Proactively identify and resolve customer enquiries and complaints from a variety of internal and external parties in a timely manner.
  • Be an active member of the Injury and Claims Management team, and participate in business and operation improvement projects to ensure quality services are delivered.

About you
You are a passionate Claims Advisor - Workers Compensation looking to make a difference at Transport for NSW.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated workers compensation claims management and injury management experience in large complex organisations. End to end claims management experience is preferable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of workers compensation legislation
  • Exceptional Stakeholder management skills
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Time management skills

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Grade 5A ($87, E ($95,984) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
