About this position

Join our Sustainability Reporting team that collaborates closely with our business and clients to apply sustainability reporting standards effectively. This includes the latest Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS), IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, and other relevant local and international regulations.

In this role, you will:

  • Contribute to internal and external publications on sustainability reporting issues;
  • Support in providing technical training or tools based on business and client requirements;
  • Analyze and interpret sustainability reporting standards for specific scenarios;
  • Participate in the creation of technical sustainability reporting papers;
  • Review sustainability reports for compliance with reporting requirements.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to enhance your expertise in technical sustainability reporting topics through involvement in subject matter focus groups within the Grant Thornton International network.

Skills & qualifications

You should have:

  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent written communication skills with keen attention to detail;
  • A keen interest in sustainability reporting;

You are:

  • Naturally curious and eager for growth and continuous learning;
  • A team player open to challenges, idea-sharing, and collaborative learning.

Prior knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks such as TCFD, Greenhouse Gas Protocol, or GRI is advantageous but not mandatory. Experience in financial audits is a plus but not essential for the right candidate.

This role welcomes candidates from diverse backgrounds with varying qualifications and experiences, such as:

  • Experience in delivering technical training in fields like accounting or law;
  • Research or analysis of standards, legislation, or contracts;
  • Writing technical articles or memorandums;
  • Advisory experience in sustainability or climate change;
  • Specialization in carbon emissions accounting or climate-related risk assessment.

Location

This position is open to candidates in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, or Cairns.

Qualifications:

Relevant tertiary degree.
