Your opportunity to join us in North Ryde

As the Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a crucial role within our Finance team, supporting the Group Finance Manager.

This role is responsible for providing high quality, accurate and timely financial accounting support to ensure compliance, enhance decision making and achieve business goals. A key focus of this role will be to apply a challenging mindset with a view to improve and enhance processes and controls.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop and mentor small team of financial accountants
  • Prepare annual and half-yearly financial reports with precision and expertise
  • Stay ahead of the curve by analysing the impact of new accounting standards and presenting technical accounting papers
  • Understand conceptional principles of AASB 16 lease accounting and assist with managing the accounting entries and analysis as required
  • Carry out accounting for Group transactions relating to equity, such as share capital movements, share-based payments, dividends (internal and external), investments in subsidiaries, other investments and any related impairment matters with appropriate source documentation
  • Prepare weekly/monthly/ad-hoc journal entries to ensure accuracy and completeness of the P&L and Balance Sheet
  • Perform and oversee month-end processes with a focus on ensuring the accuracy of all reconciliations
  • Prepare assigned sections of monthly board pack slides
