Short term contract role for an experienced Project Manager within the commercial construction industry, to 'caretake' a couple of project below $8M

The Role

Ideally suited to an experienced Project Manager, who free and available for a 2-3 month short term contract, to support a reputable Melbourne builder who has 2 senior staff members on leave. You will be working within a mid-sized fit-out contractor with a direct reporting line to the Construction Manager. Normal PM duties expected (if you don't understand the duties or have no experience as a Project Manager, this isn't the right role for you).

The Builder

Located in Melbourne's South East suburbs, this well-known, established interior and refurb company specialises in small, medium, and large projects for new builds, commercial fit-outs, and building renovation - to the value of $10M

For their long-term clients, they are skilled at working on projects with complicated technological requirements. They differentiate themselves from the competition by applying a pragmatic perspective to budgets and programmes and being honest in their dealings.

They've been working across a range of sectors, including:
  • Health/Medical
  • Education
  • Hospitality
  • Showrooms
Are you suitable?

This role is within a commercial builder, you will need to have the pre-requisite construction qualification, construction experience and capability, to suit this role. Broadly speaking, you will be considered suitable if you have the following:
  • Experience managing all subcontractor packages – from the ground up to completion
  • Exposure to commercial construction projects in excess of $2 million construction value - within a head contractor
  • Experience working with local Victorian sub-contractors and networks within them which will allow for closer partnerships
  • Needs to be based relatively close to their offices in South East suburbs of Melbourne (free parking)
