Vocational Education and Training (VET) at the University provides students with the skills they need to thrive.

We provide career preparation and formal qualifications to specialise in a certain area of work, to make a career change or as a pathway into higher education through the UNDA Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

Our programs are flexible and structured so students can learn online, on-campus and in the field.

ABOUT THE ROLE


To develop, implement, monitor, report on, manage and ensure continuous improvement of the systems, processes and VET practices supporting the RTO's governance, compliance, and self-assurance.

The role is the primary point of contact for all VET compliance, risk and audit matters to ensure governance systems and processes for VET are aligned with the national VET Quality Framework and legislative obligations, requirements of relevant training packages and UNDA frameworks.


The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Develop, implement and maintain governance systems, tools and processes related to the management of risk, audit, legislative and regulatory compliance, and business continuity to embed a positive compliance and governance culture within the UNDA RTO and organization
  • Lead the coordination and departmental responses to VET's Internal and External Audit activity and maintain tracking and reporting to ensure achievement of management actions to agreed delivery dates.
  • Lead UNDA participation and reporting for VET Risk Management processes and provide high level advice and support to UNDA VET Leaders and Senior Managers on risk management practices, ensuring the approach to Risk Management aligns with UNDA policies, procedures and framework.
  • Attend and present at committee meetings within and on behalf of the VET department.
  • Identify and analyse UNDA practices to ensure compliance with all business, statutory, legislative and regulatory obligations.
  • Develop, submit and track papers, memos and reports and oversee compliance data on reporting systems, such as PowePro
  • Develop, implement, and facilitate communication and awareness programs and training on governance, risk and compliance practices for UNDA to achieve ideal business outcomes.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on contracts compliance requirements and regulatory and statutory compliance including ASQA standards, VET Quality Framework, TEQSA, CRICOS and other industry regulators to ensure contract optimisation and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Develop and plan systematic continuous improvement strategies through a regular review of processes and procedures and the initiation of improvement and corrective actions and strategies to ensure improved efficiency and effectiveness.

ABOUT YOU

  • Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience, or extensive relevant experience and management expertise, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated experience in the RTO education sector.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of State and Federal Training funding.
  • An understanding of qualitive and quantitative risk methodologies to assess and manage risk.
  • Experience in coordinating compliance audits and anticipating and mitigating emerging issues.
